Hello there! Say hello to the newly launched Infinix Smart (x5010) phone. Here, I’d be letting you in on the Infinix Smart Unboxing as well as my first impressions and specifications.

The device was launched a couple of days back. No official launch event was held, hence, no precise date can be fixed.

The Infinix Smart is the first device in the brand’s line of smart devices. Before now, the brand has the Hot, Note, S, Zero and now, Smart. The smart line according to the brand, is geared towards the youths. Especially those with enthusiasm for entertainment.

I am not so sure why infinix choose to term the device as smart – I mean, the specs-sheet (for a 2017 smartphone) says otherwise. Speaking of specs, let’s take a quick look at the key specifications of the device.

The infinix smart key specifications or features are:

• Dirac (3D Stereo Surrounding)
• 1.3GHz Quad Core Processor
• Dual SIM
• 8 Megapixels rear camera + 2 Megapixels front facing camera
• 4.99inch HD IPS Display. Let’s just call it 5.0inch 720p Display.
• 16GB internal storage + 1GB RAM
• 3060 mAh battery
• Android 7.0 OS customized with XOS

The packaging isn’t any different from what we are accustomed to. The color blending however, is similar to that of the infinix hot 4.

First Impressions and Quick Review

Here, I will give my first impressions of the device. Note that this is just my first impressions and should NOT be taken as a full review. A more comprehensive review will be published over the next few days.

Design

First, I have to say this. Before I got the review unit, I had seen the pictures and specs of the device online. For the price and specs, I thought less of the design. Judging from the promo pictures seen online, I felt the design was plastic.

Well yes, it is actually plastic. But trust me, you probably won’t know at first sight till you start wondering how exactly are you supposed to place your SIM or SD card in it.

For the price, I was quite impressed with the design. It doesn’t however, change the fact that it is actually plastic :-(.

The look and feel of the design can be likened to that of the first Infinix Hot Note device. Except for a metal looking (but plastic) finishing.

The device also features a dual front facing loud speaker. I can’t actually wait to test that out against other devices within reach.

At the top, is the 3.5mm Jack. At the bottom is the charging port as well as the microphone.

The left side houses no buttons. While the right side houses the volume and power buttons.

Removing the back pack exposes the phone’s battery as well as the SIM ports and SD card port.
