Majority of those living in Nigeria and its environs may not know what the brand, VKworld is about. Well, it’s a mobile manufacturing company and one of her product is the VKworld Mix Plus android smartphone.

In 2017, and as mobile technology continues to evolve, one of our expectations on smartphones is a bezel-less display. We’ve seen that from most high-end smartphones. Likes of Apple with the iPhone X and Samsung in their latest devices pretty much has that in place.

VKworld launched a budget smartphone (the VKworld Mix Plus) with a similar (although not completely) bezel-less display experience.

VKworld Mix Plus unboxing

The Mix Plus package appears to be the smallest mobile phone box I’ve seen.

Opening the box, the first thing that graces your eyes is the VKworld Mix Plus smartphone wrapped in some protective wrap.

Please Note: We’ve created a video to give you a better insight on the device in terms of unboxing and first impressions. The images on this post will be limited, but can be seen better in the video. Hence, it’s important you take out time to watch the 3 minutes video below. It’s worth it.

Taking the phone off the wrap, you get to find the beautiful looking android device. On the front, it states 5.5 on-cell bezel-less display, 2.5D corning Gorilla Mirror Glass, 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM.

At the right side is the volume rockers and the power button.

The top houses the 3.5mm jack alongside the charging port.

The left side houses the hybrid sim tray which gives room for one micro sim and one nano sim or one micro sim and SD card.

At the bottom is the dual speakers and just after that, is the microphone.

Just below the front panel, is the camera and sensor.

Weird right? That, I will talking on in the full review.

Taking the front wraps off, you get a better look at the device. It’s gorgeous and it’s actually glass both at the front and the back.

Digging deep into the box, the next item is the USB cable, charger, protective transparent case, screen protector, paper work, sim ejector and another paper work. All images can be seen in the video above.

In summary, the box includes the following;

  • The VKWorld Mix Plus phone,
  • A USB Cable
  • 1 Charger Brick
  • 1 Protective transparent case
  • A screen Protector,
  • 1 SIM tray ejector
  • 2 Paper-works

VKworld Mix Plus First Hands-On Review

Back to the device, setting up the device isn’t different from what we’ve experienced in series of smartphones. Setting up is easy and can be completed in a few minutes.

Based on first impressions, I love the display. Its crispy and I’ve got to be honest, it appears really sharp. Although the specs-sheet on paper states HD (720p) display, it appears sharp, especially for it’s price of around a $100.

The back houses the camera, fingerprint and flash. Remember as earlier stated, it’s all glass. And to be clear, this is the blue color variant. There is actually a black color variant.

The device runs Android 7.0 nougat OS out of the box. Personally, I love that bezel-less display and for just around a $100, the display quality seem on fleek.

This is just my first impressions of the VKWorld Mix Plus. A full review will be available in the next few days.

For the records, this is around a $100 dollar and can be bought on gearbest. Link to the product sales page can be found below:
